“WELCOMING THE STRANGER”

May 11, 2023 @ 11:30 am - 12:45 pm

Free

Critical functions of leadership in today’s marketplace include gathering diverse perspectives and empowering your team members to collaborate well by leveraging their strengths. In order to understand how best to do this, Curt Bear and his team at LoCo Think Tank have chosen to integrate a simple, affordable, and intuitive assessment framework developed by Hallos Relational Intelligence. Participants in this workshop will utilize the Hallos framework to build self-awareness and find a new appreciation for “the stranger” – someone who doesn’t share our perspective or thinking style – and therefore may be an amazing sounding board or an essential member of the team!

Curt will outline the principles of Hallos Relational Intelligence, and share some of the ways his team and his members at LoCo Think Tank are using it to:

1

Increase self-awareness of leaders, managers, and staff at all levels of business

Gain a new appreciation for "the stranger" and the utility of diverse thinking styles

Build teams that relate, communicate, and collaborate better than ever before!

WLC Guest Speaker: Curt Bear - Founder of LoCo Think Tank & Host of The LoCo Experience Podcast

Curt Bear is the Founder of LoCo Think Tank, and the Host of The LoCo Experience podcast, both based in Fort Collins; serving clients, listeners and the greater LoCommunity of Northern Colorado and beyond! Curt grew up in rural North Dakota and attended North Dakota State University where he earned degrees in Economics and Ag Economics.  He started his career as a Credit and Management Trainee with Community First National Bank – based in Fargo but having recently acquired banks in Colorado.

Curt met his wife Jill within weeks of arriving in Fort Collins and had a 15-year career in banking – primarily small business lending – where startup loans were his favorite!  Curt started LoCo Think Tank to help navigate a mid-life entrepreneurial spasm in 2014, operating Bear’s Backyard Grill and a financial advising practice with Thrivent Financial before going “full-time LoCo” in 2018.

Curt and Jill live in Old Town Fort Collins, will be married 20 years in May of 2023, and enjoy exploring Colorado together – often with high-school exchange students that they’ve hosted over the years.
